OK heres the thing when i first bagged it I went ahead and used a whole 8 in. step notch... I don't need that big of a notch so should i get a smaller notch installed or go ahead and back-half it... I have a guy here in town that will do it while I'm deployed but taking ideas on other places... I just don't want to pay a bunch of money when i can redo it myself... Attachments:

What you could do that would be very easy would be to cut out the top of the c notch and put in some 2x3 or 2x4. You will want to leave the sides of the notch tall enough for the 2x3 to slide down into and also give it more to weld to. But that would prevent you from having to do a whole lot of work and should be pretty easy.
